Meet Sandra Hutter – Queen of Color and Joy!

Tell us a little bit about your designs and what inspires you?

Definitely color! Sometimes it's the vibrant shade of a flower I see on a walk, or an unexpected color combo that catches my eye in daily life—those little moments immediately get my creativity going. I’m drawn to bold, joyful palettes, and often, inspiration comes from things I experience—whether it’s a travel memory or even an interesting design brief from a client. Especially when a project feels a bit tricky or unusual, I love the challenge of coming up with something special that fits their vision.

How do you want people to feel when they use your designs in their homes?

Joy, comfort, and a bold sense of playfulness! My work is for color lovers—for people who, like me, still carry a bit of childlike curiosity and love bringing a cheerful spark into their surroundings. If my designs brighten someone’s day or make them smile, that means the world to me.

How do you celebrate when you finish a big design project?

I like to treat myself with a little day out in beautiful Vienna. That could mean visiting one of the city’s incredible museums, sitting in the garden of a cozy café or restaurant for a bite and some good Viennese coffee or a glass of wine—or, if I’m feeling extra celebratory, a little shopping trip. And honestly, if the project was a big one, I’ll happily do all three!
