Van Garden, Where Walls Become Atmosphere
Van Garden
What inspires your creative process and design approach?
We draw inspiration from nature, everyday surroundings, and quiet moments of observation. Our work often begins with original imagery captured in parks, gardens, forests, and urban environments, with the botanical garden being a recurring source of inspiration where creativity feels both curated and free.
How do you transform art and original imagery into wallpaper designs?
Our process is layered and intuitive, combining sketching, drawing, photography, and digital composition. We also reinterpret existing artworks by altering texture, color, and composition, transforming them into new designs rather than reproducing them, as seen in pieces like Enchanted River Forest Painting.
How do you define the role of wallpaper in a space?
We see wallpaper not as decoration, but as a curated surface that shapes the atmosphere of a room. Our designs are created to influence mood, rhythm, and emotion, resulting in soft, timeless wallpapers that are meant to be lived with rather than simply looked at.
