Claire Iglesias: Where Color, Shape and Everyday Life Meet
Claire Iglesias
What inspires you?
I work with cut paper, textures, and unexpected color combinations and most of my ideas start with just playing around until something surprising shows up. Everyday life is a big source of inspiration for me: everyday moments, animals, simple objects. And living in Brittany definitely feeds that too. The light, the landscape, the slightly melancholic-but-cozy vibe of the sea side.
When people see your designs, what kind of vibe do you hope they feel?
Warm, a little playful, and somehow familiar. Like something they can't quite name but immediately like. I want my patterns to feel joyful without being loud, and graphic without being cold. The kind of design that makes a room feel personal, colorful, with a bit of personality.
What's one wallpaper design you'd love to create but haven't yet?
I'd love to design a large-scale abstract pattern inspired by the Brittany coastline. Bold organic shapes, a muted but rich color palette, somewhere between a landscape and pure abstraction. Something that feels grounded and dreamy at the same time.
